Healing Woman
for Alanna

She stares up at the crystal canopies of the ice-kissed pines
Resplendent in the colourful anthem of morning light
Her magical mind wandering and wondering
If heaven is not location
But a state of being…
She floats past the trees
A giant snowflake of shimmering symmetry;
Shining intricacies of exquisite creativity
Natural divinity, sacralised geometries…
Oh, it is morning indeed
And this is how she wakes
Bridled to the birthless harmonies
Of Mother’s dreamy verse
Remembering
That she is child of sweet mystery;
Ah, the aroma of rebirth in the piney perfume
The whiff of dancing eternity
Enticing her to source…
She smiles
Sunflowers bloom from the garden behind her navel
Emblazoned, solar-kissed petals rise
Her heart glows, a crystal ember woven of golden yarn
Stretching from her to the centre of the universe
Where a secret sun sings a love-song to her
Forever…
The flowers traverse the crest of where her heart’s jungle begins,
An ancient tantric temple, secret to High Tantrikas, AUMs somewhere
in the whirling, verdant centre.
A pageantry of sacred devas busy adorning it to celebrate an eclipse
A tryst of Moon and Sun
A parade of polarities sighing and tying grooves into
An amatory amalgamation,
Drawing all that is disparate and dissonant into the harmony of its will
To make unison
A way of life.
She sings a poem she loves that takes her home,
With all the colours tucked in her pocket,
Nestling near the rainbow coiling up and round her spine;
A shining thread
Knitting the quilt she has titled ‘Heavenly Earth’.
The child in her (the wild in her)
Is awakening;
Running free, swinging with glee
With feet dipping into the pool of Sky
That washes them with the reverent tears of its rain
Delighting in the constellation of her laughter
That mirrors the passion poems of the cosmos.
The morning light tousles her ravenous hair
As her hands brush ancient trees
And there her touch expands, foments
Past bark, into the nectarous hope within
That draws down the winged inspirations
Of Heaven’s harmonies to seed in Gaia’s oracular womb.
The wintry wind sings a silvery psalm:
‘Open your eyes to eternity’
As It dances past her,
Dipping down in the distance to scoop up some snow
And toss it in the waiting hands of Ether,
Who is jubilantly singing the circle of life.
She slows her footsteps, listens intently to each crunch of her feet in the snow
Making a bride of her breath,
As her presence dilates its infinite horizon, fulfilling not only
The galaxy of her body but spreading out to come one
With the surrounding wonderland of white-wept forest
And the blue balm of the sky urging her imagination
To alight to her Queendom’s throne.
She marvels
At just how far and vast feeling goes now
And humbly bows her head to the diligence that has rewarded her
With mystical delights, and glimpses of nirvana;
Each breath she blesses as it pours through the temple gates of her throat
To mingle with the aria she conducts in the concert within;
A cardinal flitting by
Its avian ears perked up hears
The celestial music her prana makes as it flows through her nadis
Toning the marma points where it surfaces
Like an immense diamond dream-catcher, chiming the visions
Of beautiful innocence reborn by illumined love.
It chirps to her:
‘What a beautiful melody you are, m’lady’
Before singing a high pitch to tune her brow chakra
Making her eyes winged.
She must stop to lean against a tree
And let these smiling tears
Skydive from her eyes:
They leap into the brisk air
Making acrobatic flips and angelic poses as they fall
Lucid with laughter
Into the snowy ground
That catches them with open arms, and then rocks them back and forth
Like a babe, kissing them, and murmuring:
‘How I have been longing for you…’
She wants to simply melt away and join all this rapturous chatter
Of birds and trees
Lambent light and flowing freeze
All the voices of the little world
And as she wills, part of her does
And then even tears are not enough...
She looks up to the sky
And with her soaring eyes finds his beloved face there
Dangling from celestial light
Weeping joyously with her, in trust of the journey they have both traveled
Through bliss and tragedy, brokenness and healing;
She closes her eyes and feels his misty hands caressing her slivered heart
As a wisdom whispers in her whirling mind:
‘The heart breaks to open wider’

She laughs like a golden age
As the waves of her love reach out,
Relentless and bold like a wild, ignited ocean
Everlasting with the ecstatic intent
To wrap Its radiant arms
Around the universe…
